フルフォード素馨は、今回の展示で、地球上の絶滅危惧種の動物たちを題材としたシリーズを発表する。
　展覧会では、まさに身近にある切実な問題として社会性を内包している絶滅危惧種の動物たちを取り上げている。
　しかし、それとは直接的な関わりのない日常に身を置く彼女が自分自身を「接点」というひとつの動機付けとし、そこからさまざまなイメージが成形される。その成形されたイメージが新たな発見として、驚きをもってフルフォード素馨自身に反響させている。
作品はそれらの感性の記録と言っていいかもしれない。

　英題となっている「Reaction Points」は、まさにモティーフから受けた自分自身が反応点となり、それを作品として成立させるプロセスを言い表している。
　絶滅危惧種という、危機的な題材を基にしているにもかかわらず、彼女の絵筆から生み出される画面には、切迫感とはおよそ対局的な、おおらかで、ある種の牧歌的で穏やかな感性とともに、作品に共通して流れる洒脱なセンスをさりげなく我々に投げかけてくる。 　それは、イギリスにもルーツを持つ彼女に内在する感性から育まれたものかもしれない。

　フルフォード素馨の本格的な個展となる本展では、最新作のペインティング10点を発表いたします。 この機会に洒脱でウィットに富んだ作品世界をぜひご高覧ください。

「自分の世界を理解したくて作っています。何をもってして世界を理解したことになるかはわからないけれど、感じていることに振り回されて生きることは、いまだ私の使命のような気がしています。自分の身体で感じることが、もしかしたらもはや拠り所にはならない時代なのかもしれませんが、私はまだ他の動物と同じようにギックリ腰に痛みを感じるし、描くこと、見ることに欲望を感じるから。ギックリ腰はつらい。でも私はまだ動物でいたい。」

Gallery Kido Press is delighted to announce "Reaction Points," an exhibition by Jasmine Fulford that explores the theme ofendangered species, an immediate and pressing concern with serious social implications.

While the artist herself has no direct everyday engagement withendangered species, she is motivated by the sense that she is a "reaction point," reverberating with new insights in response tothe various emotional impacts that such animals make. The works displayed on this occasion are a record of those feelings.

The title "Reaction Points" aims to capture a sense of the artist's reactions taking shape in the form of various works of art. The paintings themselves have a warm, gentle, almost pastoral appeal that is a far cry from the urgency that one might otherwise associate with the theme of endangered species.

A light touch runs through all of her work, and may reflect a way of seeing the world that is influenced by the British side of her cultural heritage.

This solo exhibition features ten of the artist's latest paintings. Please take this opportunity to enjoy Jasmine Fulford's characteristic style and playful spirit.
